ged668-art direction

good day potential art directors! this the time where we need to move one step forward; to implement art direction on your digital storytelling project.  The followings are four useful steps in implementing good art direction in flim.

1. Creating the look. Collect all your visual elements (images, videos, sounds) and create a concept (theme, characters, storyline)

2. Setting the stage. Prepare the location of the film (it can aso be just an image manipulation) and study the camera movement.

3. Color & Texture. Set the mood of the sutuation by adjusting the color background, layout to support the character and the storyline (foe example, reddish to represent anger)

4. Learn from the best. To ensure the quality of your art direction, try to adapt good art direction from good movies that match with your concept (for example matrix for action concept).

To support this points u may also read the following notes (download) http://www.mediafire.com/file/3meobzztgzy/C%3A%5Cfakepath%5Cartdirection.pdf

try to look at this clip and describe any of the 4 points above  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o2qE3Jp_ao4

For this, please prepare a storyboard sketch  for next week class (tue, 2nd march 2010) to discuss with me.

good luck
